The Love Music Hate Racism carnival is a full on celebration of the anniversary of Rock Against Racism which took place in London thirty years ago. Uniting everyone against racism and having a fantastic day of live music at the same time, the Love Music Hate Racism carnival is set to be one of the best free music events of the spring.

With a line up that features The Good, The Bad and The Queen, Jay Sean, Hard Fi, get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Natty, Roll Deep, Jerry Dammers of the Specials, you can expect music that is just as inspirational at this event as the one from 1978. Artists from the contemporary music scene mix with musicians from back in the day, to make the Love Music Hate Racism carnival one amazing day of live performances.

Love Music Hate Racism was launched back in 2002 with the fear that increasing success from the BNP in elections was beginning to have a detrimental effect on race relations in the UK. Using the power of music to keep things positive and make multiculturalism the most exciting thing about meeting new people, the organisation now puts its power behind reminding Londoners why Rock Against Racism happened in the first place.

The Clash, Tom Robinson Band, Steel Pulse and X Ray Spex played at Rock Against Racism, and now thirty years on some familiar faces are back and playing live at the Love Music Hate Racism carnival at Victoria Park in April. Joining Hard Fi will be the Rock Against Racism Allstars, featuring Jay Sean and Poly Styrene of the X Ray Spex themselves. Alongside them is a whole host of musical greats and inspirations artists that will make for a very special day indeed.

As with the original concert back in 1978, the carnival will be preceeded by an Anti Nazi League March against facism and racism. Assembling at 10am at Weavers Fields E2, you can join the march and make your voice heard againt racism in London.

The Love Music Hate Racism carnival takes place from 12pm to 6pm at Victoria Park and is free to attend, although donations are welcomed.
