Don't expect much from the Lower Ground Bar. It's a small underground dive with no class and disgusting toilets. It's really no more than a place to go to for another drink when everywhere else has closed.

I used to go to Lower Ground Bar quite regularly when a friend used to run it because he always played good dance music.

This little den, is certainly one in a million, I hope so anyway! I wasn't really sure what to expect when I went to Lower Ground Bar and the answer is, not much. The bouncers greet you as if you are boarding an aeroplane which is quite entertaining and there is a cosy atmosphere full of West Hampstead characters who you have always longed to talk to. The decor of Lower Ground Bar leaves a lot to be desired though. There is a small piece of flooring which is transformed come 12am into a dance floor which is always a laugh after many a drink. Lower Ground Bar is the type of place you don’t want anyone to see you arriving at or leaving from. However, the locals sing its praises when the likely bars in West Hampstead have gone to sleep! Everyone who lives in West Hampstead has to go to Lowere Ground Bar at least once, there's nothing quite like it.

It has a cosy atmosphere full of West Hampstead characters who you have always longed to talk to although the decor leaves a lot to be desired. It looks like a cross between a hostel and holiday chalet. There is a small piece of flooring which is transformed, come midnight, into a dance floor which is always a laugh after many a drink.
