A fabulous way to enjoy a bit of culture during your lunch break, Lunchbox Theatre at Bridewell Theatre gives you a fabulous theatre production in only 45 minutes and they let you bring your lunch with you.

Showing their Shakespeare season in 2008, the Lunchbox Theatre crew invite you into a world of comedy and tragedy. Romeo and Juliet, Merchant of Venice and As You Like It are the just some of the plays which can enlighten your lunchtimes and delight your day.

Ladies who don't have the chance to lunch and guys who can't get to the theatre in the evening will love the chance to see these mini plays. The last season of Oscar Wilde plays broke the Bridewell Theatre's records for audience figures with audiences of 80 a day. So now Lunchbox Theatre at Bridewell Theatre's Shakespeare season has been extended to three whole weekes of lunchtime drama to allow all those eager theatre goers the chance to appreciate some culture with their sarnies.

As You Like It - 22nd January to 8th February
As You Like It is the opening theatre production for this season, and sees a deal of comedy and more cross dressing than a Soho cabaret club. A man loves a woman, who loves a man (who is a woman) who loves a man, who flirts with a man (who is a woman). Confused? Witty, playful and romantic adventure of mistaken identities, political rivalry and hidden passions are unearthed in the Forest of Arden.

The Tempest - 25th March to 11th April
The Lunchbox Theatre performance of The Tempest brings Shakespeare's last play to London lunchtime audiences with a magical, spirited performance. Shipwrecked on a desert island, some Italian Kings and Princes must battle it out with the magician Prospero before they can return home.

The Merchant of Venice - 3rd June to 20th June
Famous for his demanding his "pound of flesh" Shylock is at the heart of this Shakespearian drama. Ever controversial, Lunchbox Theatre at Bridewell Theatre takes a fresh look at the nature of money, love and debt.

Romeo and Juliet - 15th July - 1st August
Beloved of academics and school children alike, Romeo and Juliet is surely one of the world's favourite love stories. Star crossed lovers and family factions combine to create the perfect setting for a brilliant lunchtime tragedy.
