Highlights of the lunchtime concerts at Old Spitalfields Market include the Sounds of Spitalfields performance, which takes place from 12pm on Friday 11th June 2010. Kicking off the festival in grand style, the event sees musicians invade the market to deliver show stopping performances, ans also sees the launch of the Xenakis Pavilion, and interactive sound installation.

Music in the Market
Keep your eyes peeled during the Spitalfields Festival, as on selected days there will be impromptu live music events popping up at different spots within the market. Highlights include the six piece band Chancery Blame and The Gadjo Club, who are inspired by everything from Eastern European gypsy music, Jewish klezmer music and rock and roll. There's also a junk percussion workshop for kids and soul music from Shadow Writing in Bishops Square.

The free lunchtime concerts at Old Spitalfields Market take place on selected days of the Spitalfields Festival, which runs from Friday 11th June - Saturday 26th June 2010. Events are free to attend and there is no need to book in advance.
