The Marylebone Christmas lights will be switched on in a magical London event that should wow crowds. Marylebone High Street will be transformed into a winter wonderland with street performers, carols, a grotto and more on Wednesday 19th November 2008.

Traditional Christmas festivities will feature heavily at the Marylebone High Street switch on, with all manner of seasonal activities taking place. Enjoy Champagne, a Sicilian sausage sandwich and check out the stands selling Christmas goodies on Marylebone High Street.

Cabbages and Frocks
For an added touch, the Cabbages and Frocks Christmas Lights Festival will be taking place on the same day, inviting crowds to start their Christmas shopping in true festive style. Stunning Christmas lights will set a suitably magical backdrop to the Cabbage and Frocks Christmas market, promising something special for visitors on the day. So, head down and pick up some quality bargains from 12pm onwards. For those who can't make it on these dates, the Cabbages and Frocks market is held every Saturday so just pop down then to get yourself some bits.

Live Music At Marylebone High Street
A programme of live music is set to feature throughout the Marylebone Christmas lights switch on. A live performance from Hear Me Now from Last Choir Standing will be sure to go down a storm and local school children are set to start the evening’s festivities with carols on the main stage and after the lights have come on more live music will be played.

Special guests at Marylebone High Street
There'll be a special guest switching on the Marylebone Christmas lights and this year the star is Gabby Logan who will lead the crowds in the final countdown. For an extra special treat Father Christmas will be taking time out from his busy schedule to hand out presents from his grotto from 4pm onwards. Make the most of the chance to see Santa by the glow of some of the most impressive lights in London, on Marylebone High Street.

Firework fun
This year's Marylebone Christmas lights switch on will include a spectacular fireworks display, lighting up the skies in true festive style. Make it a night to remember at Marylebone and visit a vibrant Christmas event.

The switching on of the Marylebone High Street Christmas lights will take place at 6pm on Wednesday 19th November 2008, with events beginning at 12pm.

The area will be closed to traffic from 2.30pm. Nearest tube: Marylebone. The event is free to attend. The lights will remain lit until Saturday 5th January 2008.
