Pre Lent celebration
A week long festival that traditionally takes place before Lent to celebrate the end of winter and the approaching spring, Maslenitsa is celebrated across Russia. Taking place for the fourth year running, the Maslenitsa festival London event means that families can sample all the delights of Russian food and culture without having to hop on a plane to Moscow.

Live music
Kids and music fans of all ages can enjoy a line up of authentic Russian talent at the Maslenitsa festival London event, with some folk, pop and rock groups making their way from Russia specially for the event. The festival also features UK based Russian musical groups, who will entertain the crowds from the main stage.

Russian blini
Traditionally, Maslenitsa is a time when Russians are encouraged to fill up on traditional Russian pancakes, or blini, ahead to Lent. A variety of specilist Maslenitsa foods are on sale at the Maslenitsa festival London event for you to sample to your heart's delight.

Events for the kids
As well as all the live music and food stalls, the Maslenitsa spring festival also includes special entertainment for children. Last year's festival included puppet theatre, traditional songs by children's groups, games and competitions, and more fun family activities are likely to be on offer throughout the afternoon at the 2012 event.

The Maslenitsa festival London event runs from 1.30pm - 6.30pm, Sunday 26th February 2012. The event is free to attend.
