Celebrate May Day at Museum of London Docklands in traditional style with workshops and events for kids and all the family.

May Day on the Docks
There's plenty to see and do over the long bank weekend, with many traditional English customs being honoured for May Day at Museum of London Docklands. Kids can make a Jack in the Green, take part in the procession and carry home a good luck leaf as a souvenir.

Storytelling and more
As well as the arts and crafts activity for May Day at Museum of London Docklands, there's also the chance to attend a session with the museum's archaeologists and handle objects connected to English folklore and superstition. Kids can also hear all about the legend of Elizabeth Montagu, who held a feast for London's young chimney sweeps every May Day.

Bank holiday fun
Children and visitors of all ages can also enjoy a traditional morris dancing display from the Belles of London City as part of the May Day at Museum of London Docklands celebrations. Another highlight of the free events and activities is the May Day procession, which involves plenty of dancing and music.

The events for May Day at Museum of London Docklands take place from 11am - 4pm, Monday 7th May 2012. Admission is free.
