Memory Cloud at Trafalgar Square

Combining interactive art and communication, the installation of Memory Cloud at Trafalgar Square in October is an unusual addition to one of London's most famous landmarks. Taking place over three evenings, the art installation Memory Cloud is likely to attract plenty of people who have something to say.

Using a 5,000 year old smoke signal communication method combined with a cutting edge piece of technology, Memory Cloud at Trafalgar Square takes messages from passersby and turns them into an interactive art installation.

Intrigued visitors to the square will be able to text any message they like into the Memory Cloud machine, and the message will then be made into a light and air smoke signal that will float above Trafalgar Square. Want to tell someone what you really think of them? Fancy the idea of spreading a little love in central London? Or simply want to make a statement to show the world? The Memory Cloud installation will let your message hover in the air, large as life and completely uncensored.

Despite the few that will inevitably want to write nothing but swearwords or rude sentences, this is your chance to get interactive with some brand new art. Created by Minimaforms, which was founded by brothers Stephen and Theodore Spyropoulos, Memory Cloud at Trafalgar Square is part of their experimental architecture and design practise that explores and provokes new means of communication.

Memory Cloud at Trafalgar Square will be on show from 7pm to 9.30pm, Wednesday 8th to Friday 10th October 2008.
