Michael Jackson Birthday Karaoke at Vibe Bar

After a period of mourning following the untimely death of the King of Pop, the capital is getting ready to celebrate Michael Jackson’s life and the huge influence he had on the music industry. The August Bank Holiday weekend would have marked the pop icon’s 51st birthday. To honour this, Soulbrew will be hosting Michael Jackson Birthday Karaoke at Vibe Bar.

Soulbrew regularly host nights at Brick Lane’s Vibe Bar, but in honour of the King of Pop’s sad demise, they will be holding a special one-off night of Michael Jackson birthday karaoke at Vibe Bar. The six-piece band will be laying on the backing music for anyone who wants to do their best X Factor impression and celebrate Michael’s 50th birthday. The song list will consist of all of his biggest songs, spanning four decades of music. You may have to fight it out over who gets to sing Thriller or bring earplugs so you don’t have to listen to Billy Jean for the 15th time, but it’s all in the name of fun.

Soulbrew karaoke band
Rockaoke, Bandeoke and Soulbrew are three of the biggest karaoke backing groups in the UK, allowing wannabe singers to take to the stage and sing along with their own backing group. Soulbrew are a London based funk and soul band whose members have been together for over five years. During this time they have performed with huge artists like Craig David and Courtney Love. They regularly host karaoke nights at venues across the capital like the Jazz Cafe, Hammersmith Apollo, Shepherds Bush Empire, as well as performing at festivals including Glastonbury, T in the Park and V. As huge fans of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson birthday karaoke at Vibe Bar is their way of honouring the icon’s illustrious career.

The DJs
As well the Michael Jackson birthday karaoke at Vibe Bar, the popular Brick Lane haunt will also be showcasing the DJing talents of Soulbrew All-Stars Andy Bird and Spin Doctor. They’ll be playing out a choice of soul, hip hop, disco and house if you get a little tired of all the screeching – sorry, singing – from the karaoke stars.

Michael Jackson Birthday Karaoke at Vibe Bar takes place from 8pm-1am, Friday 28th August 2009. Entry is £4 per person.
