Starting the new year with a breath of fresh air in the form of some of the most innovative visual theatre around, the mime festival at Roundhouse includes two special productions from acclaimed companies.

City wide festival
Fresh from their success at the 2011 Suspense London Puppetry Festival, acclaimed company Invisible Thread are presenting their surreal adult puppetry show, Plucked, at the 2012 mime festival at Roundhouse. The Camden shows are part of the city wide London International Mime Festival, which features performances at venues including the Barbican, Southbank Centre and Royal Opera House.

Invisible Thread
Plucked uses a combination of object theatre, puppetry, animation and live video feed painting to create a haunting and surreal fairy tale for adults. Enter a magical and tragicomic world during the mime festival at Roundhouse and explore the complexities of human life in the latest project from Liz Walker, the co-founder of the critically acclaimed Faulty Optic.

Plucked by Invisible Thread takes place from 17th January - 22nd January 2012. The shows start at 8pm Tuesday - Saturday, and 6pm Sunday. The show is suitable for ages 14+. Tickets cost £12.50 - £14.50.

Theatre Tete de Pioche
Also taking place as part of the mime festival at Roundhouse is Fragments de Vie, a performance installation by Anglo-French company Theatre Tete de Pioche. This work of object theatre show takes its audience on a journey through nine stages which recreate a rapidly vanishing rural world.

Fragments de Vie takes place from 24th January - 28th January 2012, and is suitable for ages 7+. Tickets cost £12.50 - £14.50.

The performances for the London International Mime Festival at Roundhouse take place from Tuesday 17th January - Saturday 28th January 2012. For more information and to buy tickets, call the Roundhouse box office on 0844 482 8008.
