If there was an option to leave no stars I would, but doesn't seem to be possible, sufficient to say Moose Bar does not even deserve this 1 star. Pretentious, arrogant and uninspiring, with rude staff and management. I can think of nothing to recommend this bar, steer clear at all costs!

The Moose Bar has gone down hill dramatically.

What used to be a bit of fun has been spoiled by the new management and staff who are extremely rude and try and charge you £20 a head for the privilege of going downstairs in to the club from the upstairs bar.

£20 a head is simply ludicrous.

The place is a joke.

Having visited the Moose Bar on a few occasions in the past, I was really looking forward to a night out with some friends a couple of weeks ago. I'd read a couple of bad reviews about it recently, but was hoping I would find them to be untrue. Unfortunately a lot of them were extremely accurate. Before we even got in there, the doorman was extremely rude to us and most of the staff weren't much better when we got inside. They also have some crazy new arrangement that involves you not being able to sit down at the tables unless you pay a ridiculous service charge for the privilege.
I've never felt strong enough about a place to go online and have a moan before, but I really think you should think twice about going.
As soon as we'd finished our drinks, we headed off to the much nicer and friendlier bars in surrounding areas..

Had the most amazing time here. We where in the bar for after works drink and then asked to go to the club after. The door staff had no problem, even though we where on the guest list they made an exception. Downstairs was really busy, with a great vibe. The waitress we met was really helpful and although we didn't have a table helped us with some drinks and introduced us to a few people and lets just say it was amazing. The music was awesome and the staff are lovely. I would recommend Moose to everyone. Dress to impress and you'll have a ball! Love it!

Went in for drinks after work, had a birthday party with some friends. was met by the security who after checking everyones ID greeted us and let us in.

inside we were met by an american accented waitress who then asked us if we had made a reservation, we hadn't but she still tried to find us a table.

drinks were reasonably priced and the cocktail i had made was the best long island ive had to date.

would defo come back again and reccommend to everyone.

Great little place. had fun drinking upstairs on a packed night, even though the drinks took a bit to make, but saying that it was so much fun. i used to come here before as a last resort, as it was a dive but now will probably become my local. cool place.

A disappointing venue to finish of a fine evening in and around central London.
unfortunate as my Fiancee used to frequent the moose bar,and was anticipating a good close to our day. however on Saturday evening 23 Oct 2010 we were rudely met by a busy body American waitress / bar assistant? enquiring if we had reserved our table. this was conducted without any customer handling skills what so ever. thanks could be given however to the door man who was called yet agreed with us on the unpleasant manner this staff member dealt with their custom. a complaint to the manager need be made, yet to spoil our otherwise fine evening would spare our efforts and enjoy by avoiding this bar then and in the future.

This place has changed hands... only go now if you like the thrill of the possibility of being kicked out for no reason other than querying a massive service charge, meaning that you must leave behind the expensive cocktail for which you just paid.

I would put money on Moose bar being shut down within a couple of months. Nobody will go back after one "experience".

Absolutely terrible night out! I've been here a few times and always enjoyed the friendly staff, low-key setting and happy hour specials. However it looks like it's now under new management; rude and obnoxious staff, overpriced cocktails and utterly pretentious. When a member of our party queried her bill(she had been charged gratuity twice) the manager sent the bouncer to kick our entire group out. We tried to reason with him and explain the situation calmly but to no avail. We then asked to speak to the manager who sent his rude and unhelpful PA who refused to listen to us. As the bouncer became increasingly aggressive, threatening to break my friend's nose, we did leave but I was utterly appalled at such thuggish behaviour. I will certainly never be back and would advise everybody to steer well clear unless you want to be ripped off and insulted.

It makes me cringe to even award this place one star. It is awful. Do not go there

Its a total rip off. They make you have table service, the arsey waitress rudely informed us that we couldn't order drinks from the bar, just so they can sting you for service charge. We paid our bill and payed a generous tip (as prompted by the waitress!) and then found out that service charge is already on the bill. When we disputed this and asked to speak to the manager (a 12 year old law student) we were treated very rudely and our whole party were asked to leave! Ridiculous!

And the wine was awful.

Never ever go here, it's the worst bar in the whole world!

This place is really, really bad. They try and sting you with the service charge and you aren't allowed to sit down on the seats if you bought drinks straight from the bar (i.e. the moody waitress didn't get her service charge).

This place is total rubbish. The staff are a bit strange, they just switched on our group for no reason. The drinks are overpriced and it lacks atmosphere. Its full of posers and is no fun at all. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Absolutely dire - do not go here. Ever!

I was harangued by door staff upon entry; I was made to wait twenty minutes for the drinks I had ordered; the loos were so dirty I felt like I needed a shower after going; and the staff were so incredibly rude it was unbelievable - they even decided to throw my whole party out for no apparent reason.

We asked to speak to the manager (in a sober state, I should add - by this point it wasn't even 9 so we'd only been there for an hour or two) but were told the manager wasn't interested. Not only that, we were threatened and sworn at by the staff.

Suffice it to say, I won't be going to this place. I would recommend you don't either.

one to avoid - very expensive, rude staff, and if anyone "important" (i.e. wealthy) comes in and wants to sit where your party is - the staff will kick you out (that's what happened to us tonight)

Went last night, had a table booked for friends to join me for my birthday. Kept being told no table available eventually a manageress with severe attitude came up and said no you cant have a table as you didnt book one? And if you want to come downstairs it will mean your friends putting their credit cards behind the bar. She kept calling us darling, no apology no help. Booked it for 8.30 but she turned up at 10.00 That was it so we walked out and met up with the rest of our group in a local pub down the road who served with a smile and no attitude. Keep this up and they will have no cutomers only staff with attitude. This used to be a fun place what the hell has gone on.

The good thing about this bar was that it was always an option. If you found yourself late at night with no plans but you wanted to have some drinks, you could always come to the moose. Ok music, ok ambience, no entrance fee, no annoying bouncers.....

After 4 years coming to this place every night out without a plan, I went again yesterday after dinner. My friends decided that they were in the mood for drinks at 11pm and I told them we should go to the moose as it is an ok bar and we wouldn't have any problems to get in.

My surprise when I found bouncers at the door, and they didn't allow one of my friends in because he was wearing trainers. He decided to go back home and we went inside..... empty like a dessert. On our way out I asked the bouncers what was going on, and they told me that there was a change in management , and that they wanted to be a more selective club (hence the trainers issue).....

To me this place is dead.... for selective clubs I know 1,000 others that I'd rather go in London. It has lost its thing, which was just one of the few normals bar that you could decide to go in the middle of the night..... a shame because there are not that many like that left

Great li'l Boozer in the day and a surprisingly decent club in the night,
Ive been twice to this selfridges located spot, once for a barbecue in the day and once on a Wednesday for one of their underground Dirty House nights. Its hard to believe its the same place as in the days its very relaxing and social (particularly with the football on) with great food and a ski chalet vibe, and once the sun sets it becomes this vibrant bouncy madness that I can only describe as painfully good fun. Also i noticed that compared to the other VIP bars/ clubs in the area, the drink price is a lot more reasonable. Must be because of the frequency of the crowd they get from selfridges.
Either way. I strongly recommend a visit :)
