Move at Hayward Gallery looks at the worlds of art and dance since the sixties and explores the interaction between the two. With plenty of exciting artworks on show and the chance to catch some live dance performances in and around the gallery space, Move is a must see show for any fans of art and dance.

Move at Hayward Gallery
Bringing together the world of art and dance into one fascinating exhibition, the Hayward Gallery is inviting choreographers and visual artists to create sculptures and artworks that reflect the nature of movement or directs the viewer to form their own dance moves. By inviting visitors to get involved in the physical side of dance, the exhibition highlights the links between the two worlds and encourages audience participation on a brand new level.

Live performances
As part of Move at Hayward Gallery there will be plenty of chance to see some stunning pieces of modern dance performed by some of the very best in the business. New commissions from international dancers and choreographers will be performed throughout the exhibition season along with reconstructions of seminal dances from the last 50 years. Fans of dance will be thrilled to see dance performances from the likes of Lygia Clark, William Forsyth, Isaac Julien, Mike Kelley, Marle Le Ribot, Robert Morris and Bruce Nauman.

Dance programme
Along with the art and interactive performance elements of the exhibition, there is also a chance for visitors to the Southbank Centre to take the plunge and become a dancer themselves. Move: Choreographing You gives visitors to the exhibition Move at Hayward Gallery the chance to become part of the performance for themselves. Grab a hula hoop and give it a whirl on the terraces or see who's busting some moves in the digital archive, there is plenty of inspirational dance on show to inspire dancers young and old.

Move at Hayward Gallery takes place from 10am - 5pm Wednesday 13th October 2010 - Sunday 9th January 2011. Tickets are £10.00 or £6.00 concessions. For more information or to book tickets for this event, click on the link below.
