This is one of the most fantastic places in London! A real piece of countryside in the city. There are a wide variety of animals in the petting zoo - Llama's, Donkey's, Pigs, Cows, Rabbits, Ferrets, Horses and some of the strangest chickens I have ever seen.

One perfect Bank holiday spent lazing in the rather rare sunshine saw no more than 20 other people enjoying the park (largely undiscovered by tourists). Sheep and cows were allowed to roam freely on the grazing land, the well natured lambs were happy to be played with (whatever your age).

Facilities include a basic tea place with lovely homemade lemonade in summer months and delicious cakes and a souvenir shop. There are also hand washing sinks always well stocked with soap etc - so no need to worry about playing with the animals. Buggy / wheelchair access very well thought through (had to manipulate both at once when friends came over).

There is a perfect example of what an allotment should be like - the only disappointment is that I have yet to see any of the produce for sale.

Take a picnic (with spares for the birds) and spend the day rejuvenating your soul at this wonderful place.
