London Street Photography

The exhbition involved an insight into the history of street photography. It shows many photographs from various photographs throughout the years starting at 1860 and leading right up to 2010. The photographs are taken by various photographers who are dedictaed to finding and documenting the streets of London. The artists which were featured there included John Thompson, Bert Hardy, Humphrey Spender and many by anonymous photographers. The photographs which appeared in the exhibition were selected by Mike Seaborne, Senior Curator of Photographs and Anna Sparham who is the Curator of Images at the Museum of London. Street Photography is described as a documentation of movement, diversity and something different within a sea of same. The earliest street photographers were around in 1860 and by the 1890's photographers were photographing unaware Londoners. Since then the interest in street photography has grown with many famous and lesser-known photographers taking to the style. I wanted to see more of these as they would have given me more inspiration as those are the sort of photos which I would be aiming to take nowdays. I did enjoy the event, however I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wasn't already interested in street photography specifically as some of the photographs were quite r
