See the naked Angelina Jolie breastfeeding statue during its residency at the Holster Projects Gallery in Notting Hill. The creation of New York based artist Daniel Edwards, the sculpture has already caused quite a stir in the USA, when it was exhibited in Oklahoma City near to Brad Pitt's birthplace.

Landmark to Breastfeeding
Titled Landmark to Breastfeeding and originally put on public display in the run up to World Breastfeeding Week, the naked Angelina Jolie breastfeeding statue depicts the famous actress in the nude and breastfeeding twins. Art lovers who want to buy the sculpture will have to have deep pockets though, as the statue is priced at £10,000.

Desire exhibition
The statue of Angelina Jolie is part of a larger exhibition at the Holster Projects Gallery that explores the themes of sexuality and desire. Jolie did not sit for the scuplture and it is not officially endorsed by the actress, which raises further questions of the voyeurism inherent in the cult of celebrity and popular culture. The statue at the Holster Projects Gallery is the latest example of the Angelina Jolie's interaction with the art world. In the past, the actress has acted as a patron of the arts with her partner Brad Pitt, as the pair purchased a number of works from the enfant terrible of the British street art scene, Banksy. Now the actress and pop-culture figure is the subject of a work of art in the form of the naked Angelina Jolie breastfeeding statue, which is already creating a buzz around town and attracting media attention. The naked Angelina Jolie breastfeeding statue is at the Holster Projects Gallery space from Thursday 10th September - Saturday 10th October 2009. Gallery opening times are 11am - 6pm Monday - Friday, and 12pm - 5pm Saturday. Admission is free.
