Celebrate Christmas by catching the digital nativity at Covent Garden, when the world famous piazza hosts a digital installation over the festive period.

Digital painting
Taking the form of a digital painting that shifts scenes throughout the day, the nativity at Covent Garden features the traditional biblical characters of Mary, the baby Jesus, Joseph, the Magi and other onlookers to the stable scene. Visitors to the piazza can see the scene shift and evolve throughout the day, with characters entering and leaving the picture and new elements such as rain, snow and stars introduced.

Festive cheer
The result of a collaboration with Martha Fiennes's SLOimage, the nativity at Covent Garden is a welcome addition to the Christmas decorations on and around the landmark piazza. The nativity scene appears alongside festive lights by United Visual Artists, as well as a 32 foot topiary reindeer, giant red baubles in the Market Building and a traditional Christmas tree.

Special events
In addition to the Christmas lights and nativity at Covent Garden, the piazza is hosting a series of special events to help you celebrate the festive season in style. Shop for seasonal food at the Real Food Market, enjoy classic Christmas carols under the illuminations and browse the stalls at the Apple Market for that perfect gift.

The nativity at Covent Garden goes on display from 6pm, Thursday 10th November 2011. Admission is free.
