It will be nearly 20 years to the day since a concert took place in London to raise support for Nelson Mandela when he was unfairly imprisoned on Robben Island in South Africa. The Free Nelson Mandela Concert of June 1988 took place in Wembley and featured some of the artists that will now appear on stage at the Nelson Mandela birthday concert, Annie Lennox and Simple Minds being just two of them.
