Taking place at the end of the half term holidays, the Nepalese Fair Trade market at Spitalfields Market features plenty of live performances and free activities to keep all members of the family happy.

Fair Trade event
Visitors to the Nepalese Fair Trade market at Spitalfields can see Nepalese artists at work on traditional looms and spinning wheels in the covered area of Crispin Place. The Fair Trade event aims to help support development projects in Nepal, one of the world's poorest countries.

Free activities for kids
Kids of all ages can get involved with weaving, rug making and Nepalese craft workshops at the fair. Last year, visitors could also see live Nepalese folk music and live dance performances at the Nepalese Fair Trade market at Spitalfields, and for 2010 there are similar cultural performances on show, as well as the chance to sample authentic Nepalese food.

Special market stalls
Stalls at the Nepalese Fair Trade market at Spitalfields will be selling handmade silver jewellery, pashminas and organic teas, as well as hand made rugs made from pure Tibetan sheep wool. Other Fair Trade products for sale at the market include Nepalese hand made paper, Mithila paintings, Christmas cards and leather bags.

The Nepalese Fair Trade market at Spitalfields Market runs from 10.30am - 5pm, Saturday 30th October 2010. Admission is free.
