New Decor at Hayward Gallery

The exhibition New Decor at Hayward Gallery takes place this summer as part of the Brazil Festival at Southbank Centre. Taking over the newly refurbished gallery, this exhibition examines the world of interior design with cutting edge exhibts from some of the best and most exciting designers in the world.

New Decor at Hayward Gallery
Bringing together 30 different artists and designers whose work is concerned with the world of interiors, the exhibition explores the different ways in which contemporary culture can shape your living and your kitchen. Creating fantastical homes into which visitors are invited, the exhibition New Decor at Hayward Gallery dismantles the normal boundaries that separate interior design and art installation, creating beds inspired by the Los Angeles freeway overpass or a sci fi style chandelier.

Ernesto Neto
Alongside his own exhibition which is taking place in the upper galleries and outdoor terraces of the Hayward Gallery, the renowned Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto is also included in the installations in New Decor. Hayward Gallery lower levels will be a popular destination for fans of his work as they seek out his contribution to the collaborative exhibition. Mixing up decoration, sculpture and installation artworks, you can see the newest and most peculiar takes on furniture and lighting design here.

Festival Brazil
Although most of the artists taking place in New Decor at Hayward Gallery come from all over the globe, the exhibition is part of the celebration of all things Brazilian at the Southbank Centre over the summer. Whether you are into guitar music, capoeira dancing, interactive art installations or street football, there is plenty going on to get you interested. Exploring the nature of Brazilian culture and arts, this is your chance to dance to the beat of the samba and feel the vibe of Rio's favella slums with a jam packed programme of art, music and literature.
