Nike Plus Human Race London

The Nike Plus Human Race London event takes place on 31st August 2008 will see thousands of runners in the UK joining in with a worldwide human race, in what is set to be the world's largest one day race.

With Paula Radcliffe leading 30,000 runners in the Nike Plus Human Race London, you could be one of those racing in this amazing and record breaking event.

Starting from one of the most iconic sporting venues around the Nike Plus Human Race London event will thousands of eager runners filling Wembley Stadium before they compete in the 10k run. Following a fantastic live music concert, the race will then cross the finishing line at Olympic Way, taking in many famous London landmarks on the way.

Kicking off the fantastic sporting day, the Nike Plus Human Race concert will see some fantastic performances from three live acts. Moby, Pendulum and DJ Carl Craig will each perform live at Wembley Stadium before the runners set off on their 10km race against the clock and each other.

Throughout the day several other Nike Plus Human Races will be taking place around the globe, making it a truly international endeavour. The first of the races kicks off in Taipei in Taiwan, before taking in loads of other cities like Madrid, Istanbul, Rome, Sao Paulo, Warsaw, and LA which is the final city to run in the Human Race.

Several famous athletes will leading their nations out to victory during the Nike Plus Human Race day with the likes of seven times Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong in Austin, Beijing gold mdeal hopeful Craig Mottram in Melbourne, and Grand Prix gold medalist Yuna Kim in Soul. So if you want to be running with some of the best athletes in the world, now is your chance.

Each country that takes part will be striving to get the best time, and of course everyone in the Nike Plus Human Race London run will want Britain's athletes to be at the top of the list. With a chance to be named the fastest nation in the world, this is your chance to be part of a major sporting event on a global level.

And don't worry if you can't get to the Wembley Stadium on 31st August, you can always take part virtually by registering with Nike Plus, and having your race time and kilometres covered tracked digitally. Nike Plus users can register for the race from now on, and non Nike Plus users can register to take part from the 16th June 2008. Ten percent of the race fee will be donated to charity.
