Where

London Underground

Wear your best pair of pants and little else on your bottom half for the No Trousers on Tube Day, which takes place once more across London for 2011.

Brave the cold
It might be just a tad chilly outside, but don't let that get in the way of your sense of fun; the No Trousers on Tube Day is the perfect excuse to start and end your day with a chuckle or two. Organised by Improv Everywhere, the No Pants Subway Ride has been taking place in New York every January since 2002, but this is only the second time that the event has come to London.

Just for fun
Maybe you're just dying to show off the new pants you got for Christmas, or perhaps you'd like to keep cool on a stuffy ride on the London Underground; you really don't need much of a reason to take part in No Trousers on Tube Day. Whether you're with a group of friends or are baring your legs solo, the event is the perfect excuse to bring out the exhibitionist in you.

Eye catching spectacle
As this is only the second event of its kind to be taking place in London, if you're taking part in the 2011 No Trousers on Tube Day you'll be one of the pioneers of a trend that's already growing in popularity in the USA. Keep an eye out for some funny reactions from your fellow commuters as you catch the train and read your paper as if all is as it should be and you're not walking about in public half dressed.

International event
Although the No Pants Subway Ride started in New York, the prank has spread across the world. Sydney, Montreal, Vienna, Lisbon, Hamburg and Seoul have all seen similar events taking place on the same day, with trouserless and skirtless commuters riding the subway system pretending that all is normal to the bemusement of fellow passengers.

No Trousers on Tube Day is part of the Gobal No Pants on the Subway Day, which takes place on Sunday 9th January 2011. A number of participants plan to meet at Trafalgar Square at 3pm on the day.
