Quite simply, Octave is the place London has been screaming (tunefully) out for. We had a wonderful night last week and the live jazz was fantastic. Of course, some punters might feel the music isn't to their taste on a particular night, but generally it's worth checking to see who's playing.


From what I've seen, the standard of music is as good as any of London's clubs, and the food is a thousand times better. The butterfish was delightful, and I am in complete agreement with the mashed potato fan a few reviews down.


The chef and the management have done a great job in creating a really different jazz venue that appeals to hard jazz nuts and those who might just like it as background atmosphere. I'm always going to recommend Octave to friends and family. And anyone else who will listen.

My boyfriend and I went to Octave hoping to have a relaxed meal listening to jazz as it was our anniversary. On the contrary, we found ourselves listening to crowd noise and sitting in an atmosphere filled with smoke which made us feel so irritated, that at the end we were just waiting to leave the place. And I kid you not, it was so refreshing to take one step out of the door.


Having seen that they have a cover charge of £5.00 a head, I was hoping that this was for the privilege of listening to jazz music and not hearing noise from a bar located in the same premises as the restaurant without any partitions.

I hope Octave make up their minds about which customer they want to cater for, a restaurant goer or to make money running a bar. Both at the same time leaves restaurant customers feeling cheated.

I cannot recommend Octave highly enough! The jazz was so good and the drinks were so good, the whole evening was just brilliant. Octave - I love you!

We hired Octave for a friend's birthday party and had a really good evening. The food was smashing and everyone really enjoyed the jazz. The musicians played extremely well and the whole night was well worth the effort of hiring it especially.
