Allowing you to keep up with all the hot sporting action throughout the summer is the Olympic Games screening in Trafalgar Square. From the opening ceremony on Friday 8th August to the closing ceremony and handover to London on Sunday 23rd August, nothing will be left out with as the Olympic Games screening takes place every day.

An enormous big screen in the middle of Trafalgar Square is where you can expect to see all the hits and misses from the 2008 Olympic Games. Screening action from 8am to 9pm at night until the very end of the games, you and Nelson can keep an eye on the GB team and all the other countries as they battle it out on the pitch, track or in the pool.

With Britain hoping to bring home a few gold medals this year, there will be plenty of Londoners eager to see as much of the Beijing Games as humanly possible. So on your way to and from work, or if you want to see it all on the big screen, the Olympic Games screening at Trafalgar Square is the perfect way to keep up. Posititioned next to Nelson's Column, the big screen will keep you posted, and provide an excellent location for a spot of sunbathing and sport watching all in one.

Taking place at the same time as the Olympic Games screening is this year's Trafalgar Square Festival, which is an annual celebration of arts and culture. For 2008 the theme of the festival is the Olympic Games in Beijing meaning that there will be plenty of Chinese and sport inspired performances taking place.

Covering the same three weeks as the Olympic Games, you will be able to enjoy a diverse range of live shows and performances from artists from different backgrounds as they interpret the three themes of the festival: China Inspires, Olympic Aspirations and Images of London are all uniquely tied to the Beijing 2008 Games, mixing art, drama, sport, athlecticism and music to create some amazing spectacles, some of which even use the big screen in their own acts.

The last event to be shown as part of the Olympic Games screening will be the handover from the Mayor of Beijing to the Mayor of London, with the official Olympic flag. Sure to be a highly anticipated moment, the handover will signal the start of London's participation in the next games, and beging the countdown to London 2012 itself.

The Trafalgar Ssquare Festival performances take place every Thursday to Saturday from Thursday 7th to Saturday 23rd August 2008. The Olympic Games screening takes place from Friday 8th August to Sunday 24th August 2008.
