London is getting ready for the start of the 2012 Olympic Games and in July everyone will be able to see the Olympic torch as it makes its way across the city. The Olympic torch route will no doubt be lined by eager Londoners keen to commemorate the fantastic spectacle as the athletes and celebrities carry the flame on its way to the Olympic Stadium.

Day One
With the flame being lit in Greece and arriving in the UK on the 18th May 2012, the Olympic torch route London leg starts on 21st July where it makes its way through Greenwich, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest. Alongside well known athletes, London's school children and members of the public are also getting involved with the torch relay and will be carrying the iconic flame at various stages of the route too.

Evening celebrations
Following an evening celebration with the Olympic flame at Waltham Forest, the next stop on the Olympic torch route in London is Redbridge. The torch will then be carried through Barking and Dagenham, Havering before ending its second day in London in the borough of Bexley, where an Olympic torch evening celebration will be held on the 22nd July. This event is sure to make the most of the electric atmosphere that the Olympic torch will create, and so everyone who attends or who takes part in the events along the route is guaranteed an amazing time.

Wandsworth, Ealing and Haringey
The Olympic torch route London leg also takes in Wandsworth, Ealing and Haringey, with the Olympic flame covering all points of the compass in its travels through the city. You can rest assured that there will be some great events and parties at key points along the route, making for a great day of excitement in the city as a whole.

Westminster to the Olympic Stadium
The borough of Westminster if the last stop on the Olympic torch route, where an evening of celebration will take place on Thursday 26th July. The following day, the torch finally makes its way into the Olympic Stadium to light the cauldron and begin the London 2012 Olympic Games during the opening ceremony.

Country-wide journey
This year's route is set to go down in British history as one that covers the length and breadth of the UK. From Land's End to Shetland, Norwich to Cardiff and Dover to Belfast, thousands of well-wishers will be lining the streets of Britain to cheer on the torch as it passes by.
