The fifth annual Opera in the City lunchtime concert is set to soothe Londoners' souls with its beautiful mix of arias and Christmas songs. Designed to be a brief interlude in the working day, this uplifting concert in Cheapside's historic Mary le Bow church brings the spirit of Christmas to the heart of the City.

Carol debut
A highlight of this year's Opera in the City concert is the debut of a new Christmas carol, commissioned especially for the event. The Snow is Falling Softly was written by British composer Sarah Jane Fogg, who has previously written many television scores. The carol's premiere performance at Opera in the City, surrounded by the magnificent architecture of St Mary le Bow, is bound to send tingles down the spine and get everyone in the festive mood.

Songs for good causes
This year's chosen charity is Classic FM Music Makers, with all proceeds donated to funding music therapy and education projects across the country. The concert itself is testament to the fact that music can be a fantastic emotional salve, so what better way to usher in the season of giving than supporting the Opera in the City concert and its wonderful cause.

The Opera in the City Christmas concert takes place at 1.05pm, Thursday 4th December 2008, at St Mary le Bow, Cheapside. Tickets are £10.00 each. For information or to book tickets, click links below.
