Orchids exhibition at Kew Gardens
The Tropical Extravaganza orchids exhibition at Kew Gardens presents visitors with a riot of colour, with literally thousands of exotic flowers on show in the Princess of Wales Conservatory. Appealing to all ages, see the orchids, bromeliads, anthuriums and other vibrant specimans from around the world while they are on display and still in full bloom.

Exhibition highlights
The centrepiece of the Tropical Extravaganza exhibition at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew is the huge orchid covered tree emerging from the pond water in the Princess of Wales Conservatory, an all-natural treat for the senses. Keep an eye out too for all the different and spectacular colours, shapes and sizes on show, which are this year inspired by the theme of Forces of Nature - earth, wind, fire and water.

Special events
A number of special events are taking place alongside the orchids exhibition at Kew Gardens, including behind the scenes tours of the orchid nursery and tropical nursery, as well as expert advice on growing your own orchids. Take a nursery tour with one of the experts, or take part in a Q&A with the horticultural staff afterwards. There is even the chance to sign up for a orchids for beginners course, where you can grow these beautiful plants in your own home.

The orchids exhibition at Kew Gardens is part of the Tropical Extravaganza, and is open 9.30am - 5pm, Saturday 4th February - Sunday 4th March 2012. Tickets cost £13.90, concessions are £11.90, and young people under 17 years old go free. For more information on the events and activies at Kew, click on the link below.
