Documenting the history and emergence of the black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual community, Outside Edge is a display on at the Museum in Docklands that celebrates its achievements over the past 30 years.

Commemorating people and events important to black LGBT history, the display highlights the struggles that have taken place since the 1970 and also demonstrates the contribution to campaigns for fair representation against homophobia.

An indispensable exploration of black LGBT culture, the exhibition celebrates the emergence of the artistic communties and the club and music scene. Challenging the narrow cultural definitions of heritage and history, Outside Edge attempts to make visible the real identity of the black LGBT community.

On show until the 4th April 2008, Outside Edge at Museum in Docklands is part of the LGBT History Month.
