World famous Christmas lights
The Oxford Street Christmas lights are among the most famous in the world, each year attracting thousands to the West End over the Christmas and New Year period. A definite highlight of Christmas in London the lights will be switched on in an exclusive celebrity event in November.

See the stars on Oxford Street
The Oxford Street Christmas lights are traditionally switched on by a line up of popular celebrities, coming out to meet the crowds at the start of Christmas. Last year’s event was hosted by Jamie Theakston, Toby Anstis and Harriet Scott from Heart FM, and this year the sexy Sugababes will be the star attraction on hand to switch on the lights. Performing live at the House of Fraser for the 2008 switch on, you can see the Sugababes as they flick the switch on these iconic lights.

Live music on the night
Live performances on the night this year will also come from a selection of performers but the highlight is sure to be Charlie Francis and his swing band as they play live at House of Fraser too. There will also be live performances from Sophie Ellis Bextor too, and many more.

Christmas shopping on Oxford Street
This year the Oxford Street Christmas lights will be switched on at House of Fraser, promising the crowds a good view of proceedings and of another special celebrity guest. Make the most of the opportunity to get some Christmas shopping out of the way and browse the 300 plus shops on Oxford Street under the glow of festive lights.

An Enchanted Christmas
The world famous Christmas Lights on Oxford Street will be celebrated in considerable style with a brand new and exciting theme. The Disney film, Enchanted was released last year and the Oxford Steet Christmas Lights were transformed into an overhead, mile-long canopy of themed illuminations. So you can expect all the magic of Christmas again this year on Oxford Street.

The Oxford Street Christmas lights will be switched by the Sugababes at 6.17pm on Oxford Street at House of Fraser on Wednesday 12th November 2008. The lights will remain lit until Saturday 3rd January 2009.
