Photographic Object London exhibition
Exploring the use of photography and photos themselves as an object in their own right, the Photographic Object London exhibition at the Photographers' Gallery examines the range of methods artists have used to modify and interact with photos. Techniques such as overlaying, stitching, piercing, cutting and reforming photos will all be on display.

Andy Warhol
Work from the iconic American artist Andy Warhol forms part of the Photographic Object London exhibition. Perhaps best known for his silk screen prints and paintings, Warhol also used sitched photographs in his work. German artist Wolfgang Tillmans also subverted the conventional presentation of photographs by folding, creasing and punching his large photos into three dimensional wall scultures, and examples from his Lighter series will be on show at the gallery.

Maurizio Anzeri
Also on show at the Photographers' Gallery exhibition will be images by Maurizio Anzeri, who explores the theme of family photos by collecting and modifying discarded portraits recoverd from family albums in works such as Second Hand Portrait, 1940, pictured. The burnt, scraped and soaked work by British artist Catherine Yass will also be on show in the exhibition.

The Photographic Object London exhibition runs from Friday 24th April - Sunday 14th June 2009. The gallery is open 11am - 6pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, 11am - 8pm Thursday and Friday, 12pm - 6pm Sunday, and closed on Monday. Admission is free.
