Venues across London

Take part in a summer of sport during the Ping Pong Project London event, which sees 100 table tennis tables popping up across the city. Have a free game of table tennis with friends or take part in quizzes, ping pong bingo, a sing and ping singalong and more special round the table events.

Pop up ping pong
Brought to you by Sing London, the same arts organisation that produced the street pianos project of 2009, the Ping Pong Project London event aims to bring the game of table tennis into the limelight. With 100 tables, 4000 bats and 10,000 balls pinging around the city for four weeks, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with all the sporty fun.

Where to play
From kids to grandparents and everyone inbetween, everyone is welcome to have a free game of table tennis during the Ping Pong Project. London locations include Tate Modern and Tate Britain, Broadgate Arena, Westfield Shopping Centre, Shoreditch Park, Regents Park, St Pancras Station, The O2 Arena, Canary Wharf, Covent Garden, the Natural History Museum, Rich Mix, Stratford Town Hall, Bermondsey Square, British Library Courtyard, Paternoster Square and The Barbican, amongst other parks, squares and venues across the city.

Special events
As well as the chance to enjoy a spot of table tennis with friends, workmates and family over the summer, the Ping Pong Project London events also include a variety of table tennis themed fun. Take part in ping pong bingo at the Ping Pong Parlour, test your knowledge at a literary ping pong quiz at the British Library, get romancing at an alternative singles night at Golden Square, enjoy an interactive whiff whaff lecture at The Geffrye Museum and add your voice to the sing n ping singalong at Victoria Embankment Gardens.

Masterclasses
If your ping pong skills leave a lot to be desired and you can't serve without the ball ricocheting out of control then there's help at hand at during the Ping! season. The Spin In The Square masterclasses take place at squares across the city on 5th August, and if your game improves enough you may well still have time to enter the Smash The City league tournament.

The Ping Pong Project London events take place across the city from Saturday 24th July - Sunday 22nd August 2010. The table tennis games are free, although some individual events may be ticketed. For more information, click on the link below.
