Pick up Playing the Building tickets and see the stunning new interactive sound installation from musical legend, David Byrne, as he brings it to Camden’s Roundhouse for its eagerly anticipated UK premiere. Those fortunate enough to pick up Playing the Building Tickets will be able to enjoy the latest public art installation from a legendary musician who has created similar pieces throughout the world.

Playing the Building tickets will enable music fans to do exactly what the title of the show suggests, namely play the Roundhouse itself as a musical instrument. David Byrne has created similar installations in New York, Toronto, Tokyo, Sydney, Valencia, Stockholm, Belfast and San Francisco, all of which have garnered the musician and artist considerable critical acclaim, so expect Playing the Building to be every bit as impressive.

Playing the Building at The Roundhouse
Playing the Building visitors will be able to tinkle the ivories of an old pump organ that’s located right in the heart of the installation’s main space, which will in turn have cables and wires attached to various parts of the building, including metal beams, pipes and pillars. The visitors will then make these elements oscillate, vibrate and resonate as they play the organ, bringing the building to life and turning the Roundhouse into a huge musical instrument.

David Byrne
The genius behind Playing the Building is David Byrne, co-founder of the hugely successful group, Talking Heads. Byrne has worked in a number of different areas since Talking Heads disbanded, including opera, photography, film and art, and Playing The Building sees him continue his musical installation projects that have been so successful in recent years.
