A fantastic pop up art festival at Tate Modern takes place this May to mark the modern art gallery's 10th birthday. Entitled No Soul for Sale, this is the biggest indepent art festival to take place at the gallery to date.

Pop up art festival
Tate Modern will be featuring over 70 different artists who will be showcasing and creating their art in the enormous turbine hall. Making this birthday art festival a weekend of brilliant live events and untrammelled creativity are a whole host of artists and collectives from around the world.

No Soul for Sale
The title of the pop up art festival at Tate Modern brings to the fore the notion of independent artists and their freedom to choose the subject matter of their artworks. From the likes of artists Maurizio Cattelan and his curators and their anarchic artistic fun to the Museum of Everything collective who showcase work from a huge range of artists with differing styles and abilities. Having previously showcased their unconventional approach to art with No Soul for Sale I in New York last year, this festival of independents is now hitting London for one exciting weekend in May.

With artists from around the globe bringing their exciting, innovative and unusual artworks to the Tate Modern for this very special event, it would be rude not to take at least a little peak at what they've been up to. Covering the whole of the birthday weekend, the pop up art festival at Tate Modern will see sculptures, performances, interactive installations and all kinds of other artistic endeavours covering the walls and the spaces of the gallery.

No Soul for Sale, the pop up art festival at Tate Modern takes place from 10am - 7.30pm Friday 14th and Saturday 15th May, and from 10am - 6pm Sunday 16th May 2010. Entrance is free.
