Playing the iconic role of Fletch is Shaun Williamson, perhaps best known for his role as Barry in Eastenders, scourge of Janine and owner of the Parking Lot. Although it’s a big ask to follow in Ronnie Barker’s footsteps, Shaun Williamson boasts impressive comedy pedigree thanks to his hilarious role in Ricky Gervais’s Extras. And with such a rich character to portray, as well as great writing from Dick Clement and Ian Le Frenais, his take on Fletch should make Porridge a must for theatre and comedy fans across the capital.

Running from 1974-1977, Porridge was one of the most popular sitcoms of the seventies, with fans of all ages falling in love with Barker’s hilarious depiction of ‘doing porridge’ at her Majesty’s pleasure. This theatre production at the New Wimbledon Theatre follows on from the theatre company’s huge successes with stage productions of Allo Allo and Dad’s Army, so expect Porridge to be every bit as impressive.
