Giving you the chance to see the first ever episode of the cult children's TV series, the screening of the Page One episode of Press Gang at BFI Southbank is bound to be popular with fans. If you watch and loved the TV show the first time round or missed out and want to see what all the fuss is about, this is your chance to see the pilot episode on the big screen.

1980s classic
First broadcast in 1989, Press Gang starred Julia Sawalha, Dexter Fletcher and other teenaged stars in a story of school students working on the Junior Gazette. With sexual chemistry, grown up storylines and a healthy helping of comedy too, the show won over a legion of loyal fans during its 43 episode run, and at the Press Gang at BFI Southbank screening you can go back to where it all began.

Dramarama and Beyond
The screening of Press Gang at BFI Southbank is part of a month long season celebrating children's TV in the 1980s, titled Dramarama and Beyond. Alongside screenings of Grange Hill, Maggie, Jukes of Piccadilly and Dramarama, the series also includes a special guest appearance by Dexter Fletcher, who played teen rebel Spike in Press Gang.
