Pride London 2009 is here once again, so grab your feather boas and get fluttering those falsies!
Gay Pride in LondonCalling all homosexuals, bisexuals, transsexuals, and yes, you heterosexuals too – Pride London is back again for 2009 and it’s feistier than ever. Whatever your sexual orientation make sure you get out and celebrate for one of London’s most colourful festivals.
Why you should goPride is more than just about who you want to sleep with, it’s about freedom, equality, and the right to wear as many rainbows as humanly possible. This is one party like none other all around the world, and this year's attendance is expected to be over half a million people.
Don’t missThe Pride London parade is the highlight of the festival, with countless spectacularly colourful and glittery floats and performers making their way around the streets of the capital. The theme for 2009 is Come Out and Play, so embrace your inner party animal and break out the costumes.
Pride entertainmentAnd after the parade be sure to follow the crowds to the Pride London festival main stage in Trafalgar Square, with everyone from important speakers to rocking bands getting ready to play to the crowds from 3pm. Last year’s guests included Ian Mckellan and the hotly tipped Pink Singers, plus special appearances from the Mayor of London and some live performances from Sandi Thom, Culture Beat, dance vocalist Shena, and Amrick Channa from Hed Kandi. Check back soon for information on the line up for 2009.
Women's StageLast year, the Women's Stage had just as full a lineup of fantastic entertainment for Gay Pride 2008 as previous years with a mix of comedy, live music and top DJs making the event go with a swing. You could catch the likes of the King of the Castle dancers, comedian Shelley Cooper and DJ Sandra D from MissShapes. The 2009 line up is still being finalised, but expect a similar line up of luscious ladies.
