Pub Quiz at Old Queens Head

If you’re bored of the traditional pub quiz then the Old Queens Head promises to shake things up a bit with a twist on the concept. Quiz night at Old Queens Head launched with special guest compere Jodie Harsh leading the proceedings, and now the weekly event is establishing a reputation for providing entertaining rounds and prizes during a wild Tuesday night out.

The rounds
Quiz night at Old Queens Head comprises of four rounds, each with a twist on the usual staid quiz questions. Rather than reams of questions covering entertainment, general knowledge and stuff you’d find in an encyclopaedia, you’ll instead be asked to take part in the following rounds:

Kazzoo-Keoke
A name that tune round played through a bit of plastic. Can you decipher the difference between Kylie and Marilyn Manson when squeaked through a small instrument?

Sleeve Art
Think Pictionary on a grand scale. This is a drawing round in which contestants test their artistic abilities by recreating an album, book or film cover.

Guess The Punch
Sample alcohol and answer questions about the drink. Sounds appealing. Teams have to drink a potent punch and guess the secret ingredients. Can you tell your bourbon from your absinthe?

The Week That Was
Taking the form of Mock The Week, your team will need to ask questions on all of the biggest news headlines from the past week.

The prizes
The quiz night at Old Queens Head is one of those events that knows that it isn’t just the taking part that counts – it’s the winning. There will be free shots all night for the winning team, cash prizes, T-shirts and gift packages, depending on whether you fly to glory or limp into second place.

Special guest comperes
There isn’t some fat geezer reading out the questions at the quiz night at Old Queens Head, they like to do it in style at this Islington joint. They’ll be having guest comperes, so expect a cutting repertoire, plenty of jokes, and a brand of sarcasm so rarely achieved at quiz nights. There will also be plenty of glamour.

What to expect
You don’t need a massive team to compete at the Old Queens Head pub quiz, there could be as few as two of you. Not much of a team, but if you’re in line to be the next Eggheads then you’ll probably wipe the floor with the competition.

The quiz night at Old Queens Head runs from 7pm - 12am every Tuesday. Registration begins at 7pm, with an 8pm start to the quiz. Entry is £2.00 per person. For more information and to reserve a table, call 020 7354 9993.
