Punch and Judy Show at Wandsworth Museum

Celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain with a free Punch and Judy show at Wandsworth Museum, which relives the puppet shows that were staged at Battersea Pleasure Gardens in 1951.

The Punch and Judy characters date back to the 17th century, which means that Punch has been chased about by The Crocodile and exerting his dubious authority over Judy, The Baby and his sausage loving dog for well over 300 years. The Punch and Judy show at Wandsworth Museum takes place as part of the museum's Story of London celebrations, which for 2011 look back to all of the events surrounding the Festival of Britain of 1951.

Children's workshops
After the Punch and Judy show at Wandsworth Museum, kids can get creative and make their own puppets to take home at a craft workshop. Meanwhile, a 1950s themed cafe will be serving tea, cake and other refreshments.

The Punch and Judy show at Wandsworth Museum takes place as part of the Story of London events from 11am - 1pm, Saturday 13th August 2011. Admission is free. For more information and to reserve a space, call 020 8870 6060.
