With an enviable address just off Oxford Street and an illustrious reputation, Punk has recently benefitted from a revamp. Now, this achingly cool club, favoured by pretty young things and celebrities alike, looks better than ever.

The Venue
A velvet rope keeps the crowd of people in check as they queue to get through Punk’s front door. Once inside, plush stairs lead down to the main room which is instantly striking. The lighting is amazing with muted tones illuminating the walls and bright bulbs twinkling above the dance floor. The reflections in the mirrored walls and disco balls add an extra dimension to this impressive visual effect. To the right is the VIP area and behind a sheer curtain there’s a cosy private lounge that can be booked for around £900 for the whole night. The dance floor covers pretty much the entire centre of the room and provides ample space to boogie. Sofa seats are available for around a £600 spend and the tables come equipped with the ubiquitous ice buckets and a few jugs of mixers. Cool columns with arty prints act as comfortable leaning posts to stand by and observe the action. But what’s really impressive is that the place smells absolutely lovely throughout the entire night, a rare thing for a central London club.

The Atmosphere
Punk isn’t the largest of venues which is a plus because the size makes it feel more intimate and exclusive. The vibe of the place is posh yet chilled at the same time, an atmosphere that can be described as ‘Shoreditch meets Bond Street’. It’s filled with beautiful people in their sexiest and coolest outfits having a great time. Behind a pink, neon bar the staff get busy mixing various cocktails. Efficient if a bit impersonal, they handle the crowd's requests well. A night at Punk makes you feel like anything could happen and, with frequent famous guests such as Kate Moss and Lily Allen, anything actually could.

The Music
Top DJs from the London club circuit provide the beats at the weekends, playing funky house music and the latest remixes. Entrance is £20 but free for ladies before 11pm. During the week, fresh live bands rock out to a young, more studenty crowd. Again, entry is free before 11pm, £5 if you’re on the guestlist, or £7 otherwise.

The Drink
Punk has a 40-strong cocktail menu. Signature drinks like the Sexy Punk start at £8.50 and go up to the £10 mark. Classics like the mojito are reliable options and Punk’s version is refreshing without being overly sweet. Bottle service is, of course, popular and Grey Goose vodka, El Dorado rum or Johnnie Walker whisky are all available. Naturally, champagne – including Dom P and Armand de Brignac’s Ace of Spades - is on offer and bottled beers (Heineken, Kronenbourg) cost around £5 a pop.

The Last Word
With its fabulous new interior, great music and tasty cocktails, Punk is an awesome place to party any day of the week.
