50th anniversary
As its the 50th anniversary of the start of the sixties this year, many London venues are celebrating with events that look back at the decade of glamour and hedonism that was hugely significant in many cultural areas. Bonhams auction house are celebrating those swinging sixties with the world famous photographer David Bailey, as they present the Pure Sixties Pure Bailey exhibition which feature many famous faces from the era.

Not only is David Bailey renowned for his world class photos but he was also a huge player on the fashionable scene of sixties London. Working for Vogue in July 1960, he was offered the chance to take photos of many famous people, and you can see the celebrities that made the headlines back in the day in this unique selling exhibition.

Exhibition highlights
From the beautiful to the fashionable, David Bailey captured the visages of the hip and happening in the sxities and not only helped them to make the headlines, but became a famous artist in his own right. On show in the Pure Sixties Pure Bailey exhibition you can see the likes of Jean Shrimpton, Catherine Deneuve, Brigitte Bardot, Raquel Welch, The Rolling Stones, Andy Warhol, Michael Caine and The Who.

The Pure Sixties Pure Bailey exhibition takes place from Sunday 7th March - Wednesday 7th April 2010 at Bonhams, New Bond Street. Entrance is free and all exhibition photos are for sale.
