In June 2012 HM Queen Elizabeth II will become the second longest reigning monarch this country has ever had, after Queen Victoria. Having been crowned in 1952, the Queens Jubilee in 2012 marks her longstanding position as the Head of the State and the Royal Family, and Monarch of the British Isles and the Commonwealth countries. So you can expect a whole host of exciting Queens Jubilee London events to celebrate, including an awe inspiring flotilla of over a thousand boats making their way along the Thames.

Royal status for Greenwich
The Queens Jubilee London events will be especially significant in Greenwhich as it will be granted Royal Borough status. Greenwich has had connections with the Royal Family for around 600 years, and is also the place where you will be able to catch most of the Olympic action over summer 2012.
Bank holiday fun
And it's not just the Queen who gets to have all the fun. The normal late May bank holiday Monday is being moved to Monday 4th June and coupled with that, there will be an extra Queens Jubilee bank holiday on Tuesday 5th June 2012. So with four whole days off in a row, there is even more to celebrate!
