E Nesbit’s classic novel of The Railway Children is one of literature’s most popular tales, telling the story of Bobby, Peter and Phyllis, three young children whose lives are suddenly changed when their father disappears in mysterious circumstances. The Railway Children then move to rural Yorkshire with their mother and embark on a fascinating journey of discovery, where friendships and adventures abound in what’s a heartwarming tale.

The Railway Children in London
This production of The Railway Children is brought to London by Mike Kenny, who has adapted the original story for the stage, working in conjunction with The Touring Consortium. The play is directed by Damien Crudden, the Artistic Director of the York Theatre Royal for the past twelve years, with the stunning design coming from acclaimed designer Jo Scotcher.

Charity Event
Tickets for The Railway Children at Waterloo Station will also help raise money for the Railway Children Charity, with £1 from each ticket going to the charity, enabling you to enjoy the play whilst knowing you’re doing something good. The Railway Children is also supported by the Science Museum and Welcome To Yorkshire, so expect plenty of other bits and bobs to keep you entertained before and after the show.
