Foodies will be digging in at the Real Food Festival thanks to the opportunity to taste and try a whole range of delicious organic, freshly made and carefully selected produce all under one roof. With food fairs and wine workshops plus the opportunity to indulge in plenty of sampling sessions, the Real Food Festival is for anyone serious about what they eat.

Gourmet heaven
Based on the principles of slow food, the show is the ideal place for those who love food and want to ensure that they buy the best ingredients and eat at the best restaurants. Giving visitors the knowledge about where their food comes from, how it is produced and most important of all, why it tastes as good as it does, the producers at the Real Food Festival can talk directly to their customers and give them a taste of foodie heaven.

Organic, free range, Fairtrade
Authentic, organic, free range and Fairtrade is the name of the game at this foodie show. As consumers are increasingly aware of the negative side of the food industry, the Real Food Festival aims to put Londoners on the track to finding the best of the best, whether it be meat, dairy, fruit and veg or restaurant fare. Visitors can chat to farmers about their cows and chickens, try wines that have come directly from the vineyard and sample dishes from selected restaurants that serve only the best, home grown and ethically sourced foods.

Best of London
Like one enormous farmer's market, this four day festival invites you to indulge your foodie senses and try all the best things at the festival. There's the chance to try hundreds of different items from a range of different producers, while the cookery school offers you a session of creative cookery. Among the possible highlights this year are the chance to meet real livestock, and also visit the special pop up restaurant Mrs Paisley's Lashings. The restaurant is the result of a collaboration between Jo Wood and Arthur Potts Dawson, and features eco-conscious and sustainable food with a heathly side order of glamour and rock and roll.

Star chefs
This year the festival will play host to a number of high profile master chefs, who will demonstrate their superlative skills in the kitchen in a series of masterclasses. Giorgio Locatelli, Valentine Warner and Jason Atherton are just some of the food experts who will be cooking up a storm to entertain the crowds and support the independent traders at this year's festival.

Talks and workshops
Also taking place at the 2011 festival is a series of special workshops and talks on various food related themes. Pick your own tea in the Cornish botanical garden, get some hands on experience at a butchery workshop, sample some British artisan cheese and take part in a passionate debate about the future of food and change the way you think about produce forever.

Food market
And as if all that wasn't enough, the food market has hundreds of small artisan producers from all over the UK and the rest of the world selling their wares to hungry Londoners. If you love your food properly grown, ethically sourced and you care about the way in which farmers and producers are treated, then this is the show for you.

The festival runs from Thursday 5th May - Sunday 8th May 2011. Opening hours are 12pm - 8pm Thursday, 11am - 5pm Friday, 11am - 6pm Saturday and 11am - 5pm Sunday. Please note that on Thursday, the festival is open to trade only until 4pm.

Tickets cost £13.50 - £19.50 in advance, while kids go free. Tickets go on sale in mid February 2011. If you would like to book tickets for the festival at Earls Court, click back soon.
