Foodies will be in heaven at the Real Food Festival as they will have the opportunity to taste and try a whole range of delicious organic, freshly made and carefully selected produce all under one roof. With food fairs and wine workshops, plus the opportunity to indulge in plenty of sampling sessions, the Real Food Festival is for anyone serious about what they eat.
Based on the principles of slow food, the show is the ideal place for those who love food and what to ensure that they buy the best ingredients and eat at the best restaurants. Giving visitors the knowledge about where their food comes from, how it is produced and most important of all, why it tastes as good as it does, the producers at the Real Food Festival can talk direct to their customers and give them a taste of foodie heaven.
Authentic, organic, free range and fairtrade is the name of the game at this brand new foodie show. As consumers are increasingly aware of the negative side of the food industry, the Real Food Festival aims to put Londoners on the track to finding the best of the best, whether it be meat, dairy, fruit and veg or restaurant fare. Visitors can chat to farmers about their cows and chickens, try wines that have come direct from the vineyard and sample dishes from selected restaurants that serve only the best, home grown and ethically sourced foods.
Like one enormous farmer's market, this four day festival sees invites you to indulge your foodie senses and try all the best things at the festival. The Taste Workshops give you the chance to try hundreds of different items, from a range of different producers, whilst the Cookery School, run by sustainable food guru, Barny Houghton offers you a session of creative cookery. The Wine Fairs have over 100 small producers with quality wines to sample, and Dinner Dates provide you with a chance to dine out at some of the select London restaurants who will be sharing their delicious cuisine with visitors to the Real Food Festival.
The festival is hosted by journalist and broadcaster Richard Johnson, who will be keeping an eye on the chefs as they demonstrate their skills in the kitchen with the produce. Raymond Blanc from Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, Shane Osborn from Pied at Terre, Ashley Palmer Watts from The Fat Duck and Jun Tuanaka from Pearl are all set to cook up a storm for your entertainment.
And as if that wasn't enough - the Food Market has hundreds of small artisan producers from all over the UK and the rest of the world selling their wares to hungry Londoners. If you love your food properly grown, ethically sourced and you care about the way in which farmers and producers are treated, then this is the show for you.
