Make the most of the long bank holiday weekend for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee at the World Street Food Festival. London foodies can feast on fresh, well sourced and delicious produce from street vendors at market stalls and demonstration tents set up at the Southbank Centre.
Bank holiday market
Taking place as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee bank holiday weekend celebrations and coinciding with the launch of the Festival of the World at the Southbank Centre, the World Street Food Festival London event features stalls from the renowned Real Food collective. Banish all thoughts of greasy food stalls and burger vans and sink your teeth into fresh, ethically produced food instead, with locally sourced ingredients given a global twist in a selection of ethnic and international recipes.
Market stalls
Highlights at last year's inaugural festival of street food included a stall serving Indian spiced burgers with chutney and traditional flat bread from Bhangra Burger. Those with an appetite could also fill up on falafel from the Arabica Food and Spice Company, or brie and truffle pizza from Hot Rocks Pizza, who also manned a stall at the World Street Food Festival. London foodies can look forward to more special treats when the festival makes a welcome return in 2012.

If you've worked up a thirst browsing the stalls at the World Street Food Festival, London real ales and other refreshing drinks will be available to buy.
