The unique idea surrounding regular monthly club night Recession at Boogaloo hopes to ease the pain on wallets of partygoers across the capital.

Party Longer, Make Money
The idea behind Recession at Boogaloo is that, rather than let everyone in for free initially, you pay an up-front £5 entry fee that you gradually earn back the longer you party. For every hour you stay, you gain £1. Hardened party animals will be especially intrigued by this idea, if you can keep going for the whole five hours of Recession (8pm-1am) then you’ll get your full fiver back for your efforts. No vouchers, no special offers, just cold, hard cash. If you can’t handle the pace then you should at least be able to earn enough for the bus ride home.

What Tunes Are On Offer?
Boogaloo has a reputation for quality music whatever club night they’re holding, so you can expect Recession at Boogaloo to be no different. Indie rock ‘n’ roll is the order of the day at this monthly club night, courtesy of live acts and DJs. Expect hits from everyone from The Clash and David Bowie to White Lies, The Cure and Bloc Party. Best of all? They promise not to play any Coldplay.

Too Cool For School
Boogaloo has always been a cool hub for Highgate’s party people. Owned by Shane McGowan, it regularly attracts celebrity grunge fans like Pete Doherty and Kate Moss. Recession at Boogaloo promises to pull in a cool crowd of fashionistas, indie kids and anyone who’s suffering at the hands of the credit crunch.

Recession at Boogaloo takes place between 8pm-1am on the first Thursday of each month. Initial fee is £5, gained back for each hour that you stay (shown by the initial time on your ticket stub, paid when you leave). No advance tickets available for this event.
