Featuring some of his favourite photos, the Richard Young Icons exhibition is a stunning collection of some of the most famous faces around from over the last 35 years.

Richard Young Icons
Including amazing shots of celebrities from the 20th century, and some never before seen pictures, the Richard Young Icons exhibitions celebrates one of the best celebrity photographers of recent time. Renowned for taking his pictures with spontaneity and wit, the images on show at the exhibition demonstrate his fantastic skill and the intimacy with his subjects which has allowed him to take the photographs.

Famous faces
As Icons is the title of the exhibition, you know what kind of people to expect to see on the walls of the Richard Young Gallery, but the way in which they have been captured is the unusual thing. Richard Young built up a relationship with many of his celebrity clients and as such, the pictures are incredibly relaxed, and often show a very different side to the famous people he was asked to shoot.

Initimate portraits
Taking you into their world, the images of Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali, Bob Marley, the Dali Lama, Andy Warhol, Debbie Harry, Jerry Hall and Bjorn Borg are all surprising, intimate and touching in their own unique way. Also included in the Richard Young Icons exhibitions are more modern celebrities such as Rupert Everett, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. Captured in an intimate moment with friends or lost in their own thoughts, each celebrity is portrayed in a very normal way, but with the sheen of fame glossing over their picture.

The Richard Young Icons exhibition is on show at the Richard Young Gallery from 10am - 6pm, Tuesday - Saturday, from Tuesday 1st December - Thursday 24th December 2009.
