Laurence Fishburne
Riff Raff is written by Laurence Fishburne, perhaps best known by most for his film roles which include Boyz N The Hood, Apocalypse Now, Mystic River and The Matrix trilogy. Riff Raff represents his first foray into the world of playwriting, but he boasts considerable stage experience, enjoying a multi award-winning performance on Broadway as Sterling Johnson in August Wilson’s Two Trains Running as well as roles in Fences, Thurgood and Without Walls.

Originally his own film, Riff Raff has been reworked for the stage by Fishburn, telling the same captivating tale of Mike ‘20-20’ and Billy ‘Torch’ as they attempt to deal with finding themselves in an abandoned crack den with three kilos of smack and blood on their hands. The resulting story is a fascinating look into the criminal world, as loyalties and allegiances are tested as the bleak life of a criminal slowly unravels.
