Get in the mood for the Notting Hill Carnival with the Rio Carnival Samba Show at the Southbank Centre, a free celebration of samba music and dance.

Spirit of Brazil
Channelling the spirit of Brazil for a night of live music, dance and DJ sets, the Rio Carnival Samba Show takes over the Clore Ballroom as part of Festival Brazil. The free night of music and dance is just one of the Brazilian themed events taking place at the iconic arts venue on the South Bank.

Move to the beat
Taking the form of a traditional Rio Carnival party, the Rio Carnival Samba Show stars the Paraiso School of Samba and renowned samba singer Wantuir Tavares. A host of well known samba dancers will be taking to the floor to inspire you with their extrovert performances and exotic dance moves.

Get involved
The evening begins with an hour of live music and dancing, during which you can take to the dance floor yourself and join in with simple dance moves choreographed by Rio born Ramon da Silva. After the live music ends you can carry on moving to all the sultry beats at the Rio Carnival Samba Show courtesy of all the Brazilian DJ music, and from 9pm you can watch the professionals strut their stuff as the samba dancers perform alongside Mestre Esteves.

The Rio Carnival Samba Show runs from 7pm - 10pm, Saturday 28th August 2010. Admission is free.
