Riverfront Jazz Festival 2008
Established over 20 years ago the Riverfront Jazz Festival has been bringing the best in imaginative and crowd pleasing jazz to Greenwich venues every year since. Top class musicians, community events and musical styles form swing to funky rock, there is something for every music lover to get their teeth into.

Star performance
Loads of different gigs will be taking place throughout the festival but some of the highlights will no doubt be the performance from Derek Nash and his all star lineup, Protect the Beat, as they play at the historic Trafalgar Tavern. Derek is the ace saxophonist from Jools Holland's band, and will be bringing his talented jazz crew to the Nelson Room over looking the Thames on Wednesday 24th September.

Free gigs
Most of the events and gigs that are happening as part of the Riverfront Jazz Festival are free, meaning there is no excuse not to catch a session or two. The Lord Hood pub in Creek Road will be staging all day band sessions, so you can hear a variety of different acts and chill out throughout the day, for free.

Festival highlights
Other great gigs that are bound to be big hits with the jazz lovers of Greenwich include the likes of Julia Farino at Booty's on Saturday 20th September, Diva night at the Rose and Crown on Sunday 28th September, and the performance by veteran tap dance legend Will Gaines at the Greenwich Dance Agency on Friday 19th September. This year's Riverfront Jazz Festival is not leaving out the kids either, as Up the Creek hosts the Trinity College students as they play alongside the professionals on Thursday 25th September.

With something for everyone and plenty of fantastic free nights out into the bargain, the Riverfront Jazz Festival is certain to be a big hit will all jazz fans.
