Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake exhibition
Organised by the children's literature museum Seven Stories, the travelling Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake exhibition will be in London at the V&A Museum of Childhood from May - September 2009. Children and adults can explore the world created by Dahl and Blake with a range of images, audio exhibits and interactive displays.
Snozzcumbers and Frobscottle
Fans of the Big Friendly Giant are in for a treat at the Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake exhibtion, which includes a replica of the BFG's cave, complete with snozzcumbers, frobscottle and dream catchers. The exhibition will also include Quentin Blake's distinctive illustrations of the BFG and his friend Sophie, as well as Roald Dahl's big Norwegian sandal, which provided the inspiration for the BFG's footwear.
Well loved images
As well as pictures of the gentle BFG, the Snozzcumbers and Frobscottle exhibition at the Museum of Childhood also has images of a number of well known Roald Dahl characters on display. From the terrifying Grand High Witch to the delightfully horrible Mr and Mrs Twit, there should be plenty of familiar faces to pick out in the show.
Dahl and Blake at work
The exhibition also provides an insight into the creative partnership of Dahl and Blake, and shows how the author and illustrator worked together to create the well loved books for children. Recordings of Roald Dahl reading his stories, and exclusive footage of Quentin Blake working in his London studio, is also on display.
