A Rolling Stones exhibition London event takes place this spring as several unseen photos of the famous band go on show at the Scream gallery, which is owned by Ronnie Wood's son. Crammed with amazing behind the scenes images, this is the sure to be the perfect show for their fans of their music, young and old.
Rolling Stones exhibition
London is no stranger to exhibitions of black and white photos of rock and roll stars from the sixties, but this show is set to be something special as it combines work from three of some of the best photographers around. Featuring images of The Rolling Stones by legends David Montgomery, Roberto Rabanne and Bob Gruen, this is a blockbusting show full of revealing shots of the iconic musicians.
Sticky Fingers
Two distinctly different styles of work from David Montgomery are on show in the Rolling Stones exhibition, providing an interesting constrast for fans of the band. Studio shots featuring a semi naked Mick Jagger and Keith Richard, taken around the time of the Sticky Fingers album release, are a collection of intimate pictures that even feature the cover being used to protect Jagger's modesty from the lens.
Effortless cool
Also included in Montgomery's collection of images are several taken outside of the official studio session. Pictures taken of the band at a fish and chip shop on the King's Road reveal a much more intimate side of the subjects, as they are seen in their natural state, unposed and captured impromptu on an instamatic camera. Here, the Rolling Stones exhibition really invites you to go behind the scenes with these previous unseen photos.
Rabanne and Gruen
Also featuring work in the Rolling Stones exhibition London event Scream gallery are Roberto Rabanne and Bob Gruen, both of whom are famous for their capturing of rock and roll idols on film. Rabanne began his career in New York by taking photos of The Rolling Stones alongside the likes of Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix, and Gruen has been capturing the spirit of the music scene for over 40 years, touring with major rock greats such as Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Clash.
The Rolling Stones exhibition, Against the Wall takes place from 10am - 6pm Monday - Friday, and 11am - 5pm Saturdays, from Thursday 13th May - Saturday 3rd July 2010 at Scream gallery. Entrance is free.
